AMVCA 2025: The Complete List of Winners

The 11th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) lit up Lagos with glamour, pride, and powerful storytelling.

Held on a star-studded Saturday night, the awards ceremony celebrated excellence in African film and television bringing together the continent’s finest, from seasoned legends to rising stars.

This year’s nominations sparked intense conversations across the industry. From gripping dramas to boundary-pushing biopics, the talent pool ran deep and the competition was fierce. And yet, the winners didn’t just walk away with plaques; they left with history.

Chioma Akpotha took home Best Lead Actress for her captivating role in Seven Doors, while Femi Adebayo clinched Best Lead Actor for the same project making Seven Doors a major talking point of the evening. The film also earned Best Score and a spot in several other categories, proving it was a force this awards season.

In a beautiful nod to literary heritage, Awam Amkpa won Best Director for The Man Died, the bold biopic on Wole Soyinka. And in a huge moment for emerging African cinema, Freedom Way claimed the coveted Best Movie title.

The celebration wasn’t just about big names new voices and talents were equally spotlighted. From Iyo Prosper winning Best Digital Content Creator to Kayode Kasum receiving the Trailblazer Award, the night reaffirmed that African storytelling is in good hands.
