Folake Olowofoyeku Receives Double Chieftaincy Honour
Nigerian actress and musician Folake Olowofoyeku, widely recognised for her role in the television series Bob Hearts Abishola, has been conferred with the chieftaincy titles of Yeye Oba (The King’s Mother) and Yeye Atayese (Mother Who Makes the World Better) of Imo, Osun State.
The actress announced the honour on Instagram, where she shared photographs and videos from the traditional installation ceremony. Reflecting on the occasion, Olowofoyeku described the recognition as “one of the greatest honours of my life.”
The ceremony featured traditional rites, cultural displays and celebrations as she was formally installed with the two titles. According to the actress, the recognition acknowledges her contributions and the legacy she continues to build.
Best known internationally for portraying Abishola in the CBS comedy series Bob Hearts Abishola, Olowofoyeku has also maintained a career in music alongside her acting work.
The installation marks another milestone for the actress as she joins the list of public figures recognised with traditional honours for their impact within and beyond their communities.
