Nigerian fashion designer Veekee James recently celebrated her 30th birthday with a spectacular soirée that drew attention not just for its guest list and glamour, but for a striking centrepiece — a 30-tier birthday cake designed to reflect the designer’s personal and professional evolution.
Crafted by @naomiscakesnmore in under five days, the towering confection was more than a visual masterpiece. Each tier represented a year of her life, with deliberate rough textures and imperfect finishes meant to symbolise her growth over time. According to Veekee, the cake’s design narrates the path from her early beginnings to the defining moments that have shaped her career in fashion.
The event, dubbed #Veekees30thSoiree, took place at The Jewel Aeida, with luxury event coordination by @elithan_events and elegant decor by @whitehillsevents. The venue was transformed with rich floral installations, glimmering chandeliers, and ambient lighting, offering guests an immersive and curated experience.
Veekee James herself made multiple outfit changes throughout the night, showcasing ensembles from her own brand @veekeejames_official, as well as designs by @prudential_atelier. From a structured silver gown to a beaded mini dress for the after-party, each look was styled by @style_by_ruvero and @regal.by.dovin, with beauty looks completed by @ariyike_mua and @adefunkeee.
The cake stood out as a central narrative piece, unconventional in design and powerful in meaning.
