Yvonne Okoro Sues Nigerian Blog Over Viral Fake Facebook Post

Actress and media personality Yvonne Okoro has initiated legal proceedings against a Nigerian Facebook blog, Naija Boss Vlog, for alleged defamation.

The demand letter, dated May 16, 2025, was issued by M&O Law Consult on behalf of Okoro and insists on the immediate removal of a post published on the blog’s Facebook page, along with a full public apology.

The controversial post, shared on May 15, 2025, falsely attributed a personal statement to the actress. In the statement, she was quoted as saying she had “been dumped many times,” including several emotionally charged comments that painted a deeply personal picture of heartbreak and resilience.

According to the letter from her legal team, Okoro never made such statements and categorically denies ever speaking publicly about such matters in that context.

M&O Law Consult emphasized the defamatory nature of the post and the significant harm it poses to Yvonne Okoro’s public image, personal reputation, and professional credibility. The letter demands the following:

1. The immediate and permanent removal of the false post from Naija Boss Vlog and all associated platforms;
2. A full, unreserved public apology acknowledging that the statements are false and defamatory;
3. The publication of the apology on all platforms where the defamatory post was shared.

Failure to meet these demands by 6 PM on the day the letter was issued would result in legal proceedings without further notice, the firm warned.
