BTS: Tiwa Savage’s Acting Debut in ‘Water & Garri’ Premieres on Prime Video May 10

Tiwa Savage, known for her Afrobeats hits, is stepping into the acting world with her first role in the movie ‘Water & Garri’.

Directed by Meji Alabi and executively produced by Tiwa Savage, the film tells the story of Aisha, played by Tiwa Savage, a fashion designer returning to her hometown in Cape Coast, Ghana, after years away.

‘Water & Garri’ follows Aisha’s journey of rediscovery and reconnecting with her roots amidst a changing landscape marked by social tensions. Tiwa Savage expressed her excitement for the project, calling it a dream come true.

The movie’s title, ‘Water & Garri’, reflects Tiwa Savage’s EP released in 2021, showcasing her talent beyond music.
