Hilda Baci Makes History with World’s Largest Serving of Nigerian Style Jollof
Nigeria’s culinary star Hilda Baci has entered the Guinness World Records once again, this time for preparing the largest serving of Nigerian jollof rice ever recorded. Partnering with Gino Nigeria, Baci cooked an astonishing 8,780 kilograms of jollof rice in Lagos.

The record-setting event was held on 12 September 2025 at Eko Hotels & Suites during the Gino World Jollof Festival. It drew large crowds, celebrity guests and live performances, making it both a cultural showcase and a world record attempt.
Guinness World Records confirmed the achievement on 15 September 2025 after verifying that all official rules were met. These included strict ingredient proportions, accurate measurements, and ensuring the food was cooked and served without waste.
The attempt required close to nine hours of continuous cooking, with 1,200 kilograms of gas used to fuel the massive pot. Ingredients outlined by Baci included 4,000 kilograms of washed basmati rice, 612 kilograms of oil, 800 kilograms of Gino Asun peppered chicken with party jollof, 600 kilograms of her signature jollof pepper mix, 220 kilograms of seasoning cubes, and 300 kilograms of onion, garlic, and ginger blend. Fresh goat meat weighing 164 kilograms was also part of the dish.
As required by Guinness World Records, at least 80 percent of the total dish consisted of washed basmati rice, and the final meal was distributed to attendees.
This achievement adds another accolade to Baci’s growing list of culinary milestones, further cementing her influence in Nigerian food culture and on the global stage.
