Liz Sanya Attempts Guinness World Record with Giant Pink Sandal
Liz Sanya, a young and innovative fashion designer, has captured global attention with her ambitious Guinness World Record attempt for the World’s Largest Sandal.
Her bold creation, a vibrant pink clog, spans an incredible 4.8 meters (15 feet 9 inches) in length and stands as a testament to her creativity and determination.
The record attempt took place over three days in Lagos, Nigeria, from January 2 to January 4, with a nonstop effort that lasted 72 hours.
Liz’s craftsmanship and vision were brought to life with the support of an enthusiastic crowd, including notable names such as music artists Mayorkun, Pheelz, P.Priime, and Taves.
Others, like music entrepreneur Bizzle Osikoya and filmmaker Korty, also joined in to cheer her on, celebrating her bold pursuit of excellence in fashion.
Liz’s journey in fashion design began at the young age of 12, when she started creating shoes out of pure passion. By 14, she was already selling her designs, channelling her profits into furthering her craft. Speaking about her incredible achievement, Liz shared the driving force behind her work:
“I’ll never be able to put into words what any of this means to me. I started designing shoes when I was 12 and by 14 I was selling them to fund a ‘habit’ I couldn’t afford. None of this has been possible without the support and compassion of the people who see me and believe in my vision. Ibadan… where I was born. Lagos where I was inspired. It was only right to come back home and prove it. One world record to beat, within 72 hours.”
The pink sandal, both a symbol of innovation and a celebration of African creativity, has not only set the stage for Liz’s entry into the global spotlight but also highlights Lagos as a hub for artistry and ambitious achievements.
The event was documented with photos showcasing the sheer scale of the sandal and the excitement it generated among fans and supporters.
