Olamide Drops “Metaverse” Music Video from “Ikigai” EP

Nigerian rapper Olamide has unveiled the music video for “Metaverse,” a track from his latest EP, “Ikigai.”

The term “Ikigai” translates to “a reason for living” in Japanese, reflecting the EP’s thematic depth. The video, directed by Jyde Ajala—an acclaimed name in the Afrobeats scene known for his work with artists like Omah Lay and Fireboy DML—boasts impressive visuals and engaging choreography.

The “Ikigai” EP features a series of noteworthy collaborations. The second track, “Uptown Disco,” includes contributions from fellow YBNL artists Asake and Fireboy DML, setting the stage for a vibrant party anthem. Another highlight is the song “Knockout,” featuring the talented vocalist SABRI.

One of the standout moments on the EP is the seventh track, “Synchro System,” which sees Olamide reuniting with Pheelz, Young Jonn, and Lil Kesh—all former members of his YBNL label.
