Chika Ike Marks 40th Birthday by Empowering 40 Nigerian Women Through ‘Chika 40 Smiles’ Initiative
Nollywood actress and producer Chika Ike marked her 40th birthday with an empowerment initiative targeted at supporting 40 women across Nigeria.
The project, tagged “Chika 40 Smiles,” focused on providing practical tools and resources to boost small businesses and support women in need.
To commemorate the milestone, Ike distributed sewing machines, pepper-grinding machines, and other essential items aimed at helping beneficiaries improve their livelihoods. A video from the event showed the actress celebrating with a selected group of women who received the items during the outreach.
In her message, Ike explained that turning 40 prompted her to take a different approach to celebration. According to her, the goal was to create something meaningful and reflective of the new phase of her life. She added that becoming a mother earlier this year influenced the direction of the initiative and strengthened her desire to honour her own mother’s legacy of sacrifice and support.
The actress noted that the empowerment programme aligned with her intentions for this stage of her life, describing it as an opportunity to give back and create long-term impact. Ike also highlighted that the event included moments of gratitude, conversations, music, and celebration with the beneficiaries.
