In a statement issued by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Public Relations Officer, DCI Kenneth Udo, the fee hike is part of the government’s commitment to maintaining the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport.

Under the revised fee structure, the cost for a 32-page passport booklet with a 5-year validity will increase from N35,000 to N50,000. The 64-page passport booklet, which offers a 10-year validity, will now be priced at N100,000, up from the previous N70,000. However, the NIS clarified that the fees for Nigerians residing abroad will remain unchanged.

This adjustment underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to improve the passport issuance process while ensuring that the document meets international standards.
