RIP Zahara: Details For Late Singer’s Memorial Service Announced
Details for the memorial service of the late South African pop star Bulelwa “Zahara” Mkututana have been announced.
The memorial will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023, between 11h00 and 14h00 at the Rhema Bible Church North in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The service will be streamed live via the Ministry of Sports, Arts & Culture’s official social media pages.
Born on November 9, 1987, the musician well known for her songs such as Loliwe, Phendula and many others passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023.
Zahara released her first studio album in 2011, called Loliwe, which went double platinum.
Two years later, her second album Phendula also rocked the charts, producing three top singles – Phendula, Impilo and Stay.
And she did it again in 2015, with Country Girl, which went triple platinum, and then Nqaba Yam – her fifth album which hit number one on iTunes.
The self-taught guitarist scooped 17 SAMusic awards, three Metro FM awards and a Nigeria Entertainment award.
