EFCC Arrests Alleged Canadian Visa Scammer
In Abuja, the EFCC has apprehended an individual suspected of perpetrating multiple scams related to Canadian visas.
Enock Ogungbamigbe, a suspected scammer who allegedly specializes in defrauding Nigerians seeking to migrate to Canada for work or education with false visa and job offers, was apprehended on Friday by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The 32-year-old, who owns a garden in Mpape, a suburb of Abuja, was arrested by EFCC operatives at Transcorp Hotel in Abuja, where he had gone for an appointment to procure a visa for an applicant intending to migrate to Canada.
The arrest was a result of a petition by a victim who lost N5 million to the suspect as processing fees for a Canada visa. Ogungbamigbe will face charges in court after the investigation is completed, according to Wilson Uwujaren, the EFCC’s Director of Media and Publicity.
