 Born on the 24th of July, 1970, HRM Oba Abdul-Wasiu Omogbolahan Lawal Abisogun II the Oniru of Iru Land clocks 50 today but the monarch who was presented with the staff of office on June 7, 2020, by the Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu opted for a quiet celebration.

Despite opting for a quiet celebration as conveyed in a statement from the palace “in line with recent development and state restrictions on public gathering due to the COVID-19 pandemic, well-wishers are advised to refrain from paying courtesy visits to the palace.”

The monarch still had a number of people at his birthday.

Appreciating his wife for making the quiet birthday eventful, he wrote:

To my darling wife, my supporter and the Queen of Iru land, thank you very much for standing by me through these years..

Thank you for being a great model to the women. When I count my blessings, I count you twice..
