Ghana to Host Inaugural Entertainment Week Ghana This December

Ghana is set to become the epicentre of Africa’s creative and cultural economy this December with the maiden edition of Entertainment Week Ghana (EWG), taking place from December 21st to 27th, 2025.

The week-long celebration aims to unite creative leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, and innovators in a landmark convergence of ideas, innovation, and investment.

At the heart of the event is the Entertainment Week Ghana Summit, scheduled for December 24th at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC). The summit will feature influential voices across Africa’s creative ecosystem — from policymakers and investors to entrepreneurs and industry experts — exploring key topics such as creative financing, IP protection, technology, media, and cultural policy.

A major highlight of the summit will be The Deal Room, a live investment marketplace designed to connect creative startups with investors, venture capitalists, and accelerators. The initiative will offer participants opportunities for funding, mentorship, and strategic partnerships. The Novas Awards, a new platform celebrating creative excellence, will also be unveiled during the summit ahead of its full rollout in 2026.

The week’s programming extends across multiple creative sectors, with flagship events including:

  • Mununkum – A photo and art exhibition at Osu Castle, opening the week with visual explorations of Africa’s evolving identity and creativity.
  • The Film Festival – Hosted in partnership with Idris Elba’s Akuna Pod and Bravado, the festival will showcase African and diaspora storytelling through curated screenings, premieres, and panel discussions.
  • Airwaves Music Festival – Powered by Lynx Entertainment, this beachfront concert will feature leading African performers, DJs, and producers, capturing the energy of Ghana’s festive “Detty December” season.
  • Atale: The Sustainable Fashion Showcase – A runway event championing eco-conscious design, featuring brands such as Christie Brown, Chocolate Clothing, and Free The Youth, each redefining sustainability and creativity in African fashion.

Accra will further come alive with side events and nightlife collaborations supported by Akwaaba UK and Mr Eazi’s Detty Rave, ensuring a full cultural experience that merges business, art, and entertainment.

Entertainment Week Ghana 2025 enjoys the endorsement of the Black Star Experience, Diaspora Affairs Office of the President of Ghana, National Film Authority (NFA), and the Ministry of Youth Empowerment and Development. The event’s major sponsor is Konica Minolta, with strategic partners including Akuna Pod (Idris Elba), Ashesi University, Bravado, and Lynx Entertainment.

As Africa’s creative economy continues to grow — valued in the billions and contributing to the global cultural economy estimated at $2.25 trillion — Ghana’s Entertainment Week stands as a pivotal platform for driving scalable creative infrastructure and investment across the continent.

Entertainment Week Ghana 2025 invites sponsors, speakers, investors, exhibitors, and partners to participate in this historic edition. Interested participants can learn more or express interest via www.entertainmentweekghana.comAttachment.tiff.
