Relebogile Mabotja receives SAFTA Nod For Best Entertainment Programme With Her Company, Black Swan Media
Off the back of celebrating 20-years in the arts & entertainment industry, multi-hyphenated, multi-award-winning media personality and businesswoman, Relebogile Mabotja, receives a nod from the South African Film & Television Award (SAFTA) in the category “Best Entertainment Programme” for work done on Miss South Africa 2022 live pageant by her production house, Black Swan Media, which she co-owns with Bruce Townsend.
In a full circle moment, this accolade comes days just before Relebogile Mabotja wears the Executive Producer hat again for the Miss South Africa 2023 live pageant taking place this Sunday, 13 August 2023 returning to Sun International’s flagship venue, the SunBet Arena at Time Square, Pretoria.
“This nomination came at the perfect time. It’s always humbling to get recognition for the work I do, and yet so validating to know that even though we don’t work for awards, our work is seen and valued,” expresses Relebogile Mabotja.
She adds: “Being a female-led team makes this even sweeter. It really boils down to being a collaborative effort of many women, supported by the exceptional nameless faces and minds that work unrecognised behind the scenes.”
In 2020, Relebogile Mabotja became the first South African to be honoured in the three major local award categories for film, music and radio, namely the SAFTAS (Rhythm City), SAMAS (African Alphabet) and SA Radio Awards (Metro FM).
As a previous SAFTA winner for Best Cast on Rhythm City, Relebogile Mabotja’s latest SAFTA nod is not lost on her. This new nomination is the second time receiving a SAFTA nomination with her production company, Black Swan Media, the first time for work done on Single Wives SA in 2021.
With a 20-year illustrious career under her belt, Relebogile Mabotja’s consistency, talent and hard-work is unmatched and constantly proves why she’s here to stay.
