Wizkid Has Left R2BEES Behind – Sally Mann
Ghanaian female entertainment critic, Sally Mann has identified that Nigeria’s afrobeats icon Wizkid’s music progress over Ghana’s R2Bees is due to proper working systems and structures in Nigeria, unlike Ghana.
According to Sally, who was a guest on ‘Toast’, Ghanaian artistes have a better musical catalogue compared to Nigerians but are far ahead with systems and structures to support their entertainment industry and gain international recognition.
Speaking on ‘Toast’ on GHOne TV with Mimi Kay, Maame Animwaa, and Vanessa, the critic recounted how Wizkid started his music career with the prolific music duo R2Bees, but currently the Nigerian act is far gone on the music ladder, leaving his colleagues behind.
She cited that “Wizkid started with R2 Bees, but comparing the two today, there is a huge gap. 2Face Idibia also started with the popular Ghanaian music group VIP, yet 2Baba has gotten far with his craft due to some support he got, unlike VIP.
Sally Mann also revealed that most presenters, artists, and actresses are sleeping around because the entertainment industry doesn’t pay.
She advised that, “Whatever you do to make your money, don’t throw dust into our eyes when you know your source is not legit.”
Toast is hosted by three articulate and bubbly ladies; Mimi Kay, Maame Animwaa, and Vanessa which is aired on GHOne TV on Tuesdays at 9:30 pm.
