Among the winners at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCA) was Bimbo Ademoye, who took home the prestigious award for Best Actress in a Comedy.

The 32-year-old shared that she chose to mark her victory in a truly heartfelt and meaningful way.

Celebrating with a Visit to Her Father:

In an Instagram post that melted the hearts of her fans and followers, Bimbo Ademoye revealed that she decided to pay a visit to someone very special to her after winning the coveted award. That person was none other than her father. With joy and gratitude radiating from her words, she wrote, “Went back home to give the award to my award. My biggest supporter, my rock, my backbone. My Father. Met his absence, but I knew exactly where he’d be. (He loves chilling with the boys in the hood when he’s less busy on Sunday. My dad took me to my first audition and waited for 6 hours till I was done.”

A Supportive Father and a Nurturing Neighborhood:

Bimbo Ademoye’s success in the acting world has not come without the support and encouragement of her loved ones. She acknowledged her father’s pivotal role in her journey, reminiscing about how he had taken her to her very first audition and patiently waited for six hours until she was finished. This selfless act of support and belief in her talent undoubtedly left an indelible mark on Bimbo’s life.

Not only did Bimbo credit her father, but she also expressed gratitude to her neighbourhood, which she believes played a significant part in shaping her ability to portray diverse characters. “My hood produced all the characters that has made you guys laugh. From iya Barakat, to Todowede, to Selina. I’ve had to mimic someone from the hood to give those characters life. My name is Bimbo Ademoye, Ademoye Adekunke’s daughter, Ari’s aunty, and I’m from Ebute Meta. Born and bred in the hood. There are so many people I’d love to appreciate. I’m prepping my speech guys.” she proudly stated.

It is a testament to the vibrant community and the creative energy that Bimbo grew up in, influencing her passion for acting and honing her skills.
