DJ Switch Addresses Canadian SubCommittee Via TeleConferencing Over Lekki Shootings
One of the prominent Nigeria #EndSars protesters, Obianuju Catherine Udeh, better known as DJ Switch has appeared before the Canadian House of Commons subcommittee on International Human Rights of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development as a witness to narrate her account of the alleged Lekki Killings.
The briefing which held via video conferencing was on the current situation in Nigeria, it ran for over 2 hours and was chaired by Peter Fonseca Member of Parliament.
Recounting her ordeal, she said “I remembered the military came in first, they stopped shooting at some point and I walked up to one of them and asked why he was shooting at us and he said he had express order from above,”
While answering questions from Heather McPherson member of parliament on if any other country or neighbouring countries have reached out to assist with immigration or emergency refugee support aid and protection, DJ Switch said she was turned back from a certain undisclosed country when they saw her passport and that she had to literally walk out of Nigeria.
Human Rights lawyer Osai Ojigho of Amnesty International Nigeria was also a witness at the meeting.
