Video: Mourners Throng Ibadan Residence Of Late Ajimobi

Former Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi, who was critically ill with COVID-19, has passed on.The vice chairman of the All Progressives Congress whom reports said was battling to stay alive and was hooked on the ventilator has finally succumbed to the illness.

Ajimobi, who was governor from 2011 to 2019, was named the Deputy National Chairman (South) of the ruling All Progressives Congress last month but never resumed.

The former governor was hospitalised at First Cardiologist and Cardiovascular Consultants Hospital, Lagos on June 2, 2020.

He was said to have tested negative for COVID-19 but the illness was purportedly worsened by underlying health conditions.

His alleged death was rumoured last week but it was which was shut down by his media aide, Mr Bolaji Tunji and his daughter in law.

This video captured by Tunde Ayanda shows tearful mourners singing his praises and lamenting that their benefactor has gone. According to Ayanda, that was the mood at Ajimobi’s Ibadan home at 6:13 pm.
