Relebogile Mabotja Celebrates Telkom Radio Award Nomination For Best Commercial Daytime Show
South African media powerhouse Relebogile Mabotja has been nominated for the 2024 Telkom Radio Awards in the category of Best Commercial Daytime Show, recognising her impactful work on “702 Afternoons with Relebogile Mabotja.”
This honour highlights not only her extraordinary dedication to radio over the past 12 years but also her unwavering commitment to uplifting voices and creating meaningful connections across communities.
Relebogile Mabotja’s radio career reflects her expansive journey in media and entertainment, where she has established herself as a dynamic force across television, music, production, and philanthropy. Her role on “702 Afternoons” allows her to engage with South Africans from diverse backgrounds, bringing their stories, struggles, and triumphs into focus.
“What I enjoy most about being a radio host is the real-time personal engagement with listeners from all walks of life and backgrounds,” she shares. Her work on air is characterised by warmth, empathy, and a passion for fostering community—qualities that resonate deeply with audiences.
Reflecting on her favourite moments, Relebogile Mabotja highlights the power of collective support and resilience: “My favourite moments are when listeners come together to support one another in need.

Relebogile Mabotja’s remarkable career spans over two decades, during which she has achieved notable milestones, including her role as Executive Producer on the SAFTA-winning “Miss South Africa 2022 Live Show,” Miss South Africa 2024, SAFTAs 2024, and producing for shows like The Crown Gospel Music Awards and Afro Café, as well as her work as Musical Director for numerous high-profile South African and African productions.
In addition to her creative accomplishments, Relebogile Mabotja is known for her dedication to women’s empowerment and community upliftment, spearheading philanthropic initiatives through The Relebogile Mabotja Foundation.
