Nigerian Chess Maestro Tunde Onakoya Takes on Guinness World Record in Times Square for a Noble Cause
Nigerian chess master Tunde Onakoya is gearing up to make history in the heart of New York City’s iconic Times Square. His ambitious mission? To break the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon by playing for an astounding 58 consecutive hours – all without a single defeat.
What drives Tunde’s monumental challenge is not just personal glory, but a deeply rooted commitment to empower disadvantaged children, particularly in Africa. “I’m doing this for the dreams of millions of children across Africa who lack access to education,” he passionately asserts.
Already making waves in the bustling streets of Times Square, Tunde the founder of Chess in Slums Africa, has been spotted engaging in intense chess matches, showcasing his skills and winning hearts at various events and chess clubs throughout the city.
We are rooting for him every step of the way.
