Rapper Ikechukwu Opens Up About Marriage Breakdown: “It Wasn’t Over Infidelity”

Popular Nigerian rapper and actor Ikechukwu Onunaku has recently made headlines with the revelation of the end of his marriage to Brunella Oscar, his wife of less than a year.

The couple, who exchanged vows in a lavish ceremony in May 2021, has decided to part ways due to what Ikechukwu describes as irreconcilable differences.

In an exclusive interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, the 40-year-old artist shed light on the reasons behind the dissolution of their union. Contrary to speculation, infidelity was not the cause of their separation. Instead, Ikechukwu pointed to issues such as gaslighting, fault-finding, and undue influence from external sources as major factors contributing to the breakdown of their relationship.

“There was too much gaslighting, too much looking for faults, too much listening to random people. Trust me I tried…” Ikechukwu shared, “But I reached a point where I couldn’t tolerate my ex-wife’s excesses anymore.” He expressed feeling emasculated and constantly undermined, stating that his ex-wife made him feel inadequate. Despite his efforts to salvage the marriage, the challenges became insurmountable, leading to their eventual decision to part ways.
