Hudson & Rex S6 Returns Universal TV On 6 February

DStv marks the return of the acclaimed action-packed drama Hudson & Rex, that is returning for its highly anticipated sixth season on Universal TV.

The show stars John Reardon (TRON: Legacy, Scary Movie 4) as Detective Charlie Hudson and Diesel vom Burgimwald (Canadian Screen Awards with Samantha Bee, The Up & Adam Show) as his extraordinary German Shepherd partner, Rex.

The new season promises 16, one-hour episodes of suspense, mystery, and heartwarming moments, every Tuesday at 6pm from 6th February exclusively on Universal TV.

In the sixth season, Detective Charlie Hudson and his remarkable German Shepherd partner, Rex, face a more challenging caseload than ever before. From stopping a pair of desperate robbers on a spree, to uncovering the sinister plot behind a disappeared whale watching boat, the duo are kept on their toes (and paws) by the criminals of St. John’s.

Through this batch of puzzling investigations, the extraordinary duo’s partnership only grows stronger – where Charlie’s impeccable logic and quick thinking meets Rex’s agility and keen senses. With assistance from their teammates in the Major Crimes Department, no mystery is left unsolved for long.

Forensics scientist Dr. Sarah Truong will pursue a PHD in Behavioural Sciences, providing deeper insight into criminal psychology, helping the team establish motives and probable intent. Superintendent Joe Donovan draws on his established network of consultants and finds new angles of investigation.

Tech specialist Jesse Mills continues to track digital clues with ultimate precision, beating his own records for accuracy and speed. Together, they take on any challenge thrown their way.

Joining the cast in supporting roles are Mayko Nguyen (ReGenesis, Going the Distance) as Dr. Sarah Truong, Kevin Hanchard (Orphan Black, Suicide Squad) as Superintendent Joseph Donovan, and Justin Kelly (Map to the Stars, Warehouse 13) as Jesse Mills.

The cast will also be joined by some special guests throughout the season, including Laura Vandervoort (Smallville), Shayla Brown (Women Talking), Peter MacNeill (Moonshine), Emmanuel Kabongo (Outer Banks), Conrad Coates (The Expanse), Aurora Browne (Baroness von Sketch Show), and Ian Tracey (Virgin River).
