Seun Kuti Calls for a More Purposeful Big Brother Naija
Popular musician Seun Kuti has voiced his belief that the top-rated Big Brother Naija reality show should focus more on addressing Nigeria’s challenges.
In a recent statement, Seun Kuti emphasized that the show’s current format is a product of deliberate design, and its creators could have chosen to focus on discussions and solutions to the nation’s problems. He stated,
“Big Brother Naija is the way it is because of the investment that is put into it. It was designed by certain people to be that way. The people that designed Big Brother could have decided that it would be a show where young people discuss the issues of the country and come up with solutions, and other young people and viewers can vote on the best solution.”
The outspoken public figure argued that if the show were structured to contribute to development, the investments made would align with Nigeria’s growth and progress.
In his words,
“That means that the people going from entertainment to solutions and national development, they’re investing in solutions for national development.”
