Seyi’s Remarks on Big Brother Naija All Stars Spark Outrage and Backlash
Seyi has stirred controversy by discussing his intended teachings for his male children on Big Brother Naija All Stars.
During a surprising conversation with Soma and Whitemoney after a recent event, he disclosed his plans to impart lessons to his sons about relationships with other people’s daughters.
He mentioned, “I have a ‘shina’ account for my son, a miscellaneous account. I’ve set that up for my son, and my friend’s son… I’ll give them access to the guest house, where they can engage with other people’s daughters.”
He emphasized that his statement wasn’t influenced by alcohol but rather stems from what he perceived as valid reasons. This comment has sparked a frenzy on the internet, with people criticizing Seyi’s words for promoting disrespectful behaviour towards women, labelling him a misogynist.
Even though Seyi has survived eviction twice with the lowest votes, his controversial statement has led to distancing by ex-BBNaija housemates and celebrities who once supported him. Mike Edwards and Dorathy Bachor, who previously saved Seyi from eviction, took to Twitter to publicly condemn his statement.
I don’t condone this behavior.#BBNaija #bbnaijaAllstars

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA Lagos) also criticized Seyi’s remarks on BBNaija All Stars, deeming it harmful and contributing to a culture of violence and abuse. Observers have also raised concerns about the roles of Whitemoney and Soma, suggesting that their passive engagement might enable such behaviour to persist.
We strongly condemn the comments made by Seyi Awolowo in the disturbing video that has surfaced. Such remarks perpetuate harmful attitudes and contribute to a culture of violence and abuse.

The bystanders' passive response in the video is also deeply concerning because it only…
It's important that parents and guardians do not endorse behaviors in their children that would propagate harm, disrespect, and gender inequality.
