Chimamanda Adichie Earns Bragging Rights As First Female Chief In Her Hometown
Chimamanda Adichie, the award-winning author, was awarded an honorary chieftaincy title in her hometown of Abba, Anambra State, over the weekend.
In recognition of her contributions to the welfare of the Abba community, His Royal Highness, Igwe L. N. Ezeh (Eze-Abba) conferred the “Odeluwa” title on Award Winning Author Chimamanda Adichie.

However, she noted today that she is the first woman to be conferred a chieftaincy title in her hometown, encouraging cultural custodians to celebrate women and men equally.
“Ours must become a culture that celebrates achievement, whether it comes from a man or a woman.” she said.
