B.E.T award-winning rapper, Michael Owusu Addo known professionally as Sarkodie has stated that he thinks African artists deserve to hold diplomatic passports sometimes.

According to him, they represent Ghana as ambassadors when they travel out of their country to pursue their exploits. He therefore, thinks their movements would be easier if they hold diplomatic passports.

Sarkodie made this known whilst doing press rounds in Paris ahead of the “Accra in Paris” concert.

“We deserve to have diplomatic passports sometimes because now you just wanna move. Now, I’m on the move as an ambassador for Ghana so I shouldn’t have any hassle trying to like go spread my own country. So it’s better I have an easy way to move freely,” he stated.

Sarkodie added that although this has been a big challenge for him, he believes one day, they’ll get there.

“That’s been a hassle, but I hope one day we will get there so that it will be easier for artists in Africa,” he added.

Sarkodie , Stonebwoy & High-life artist, Kwabena Kwabena are in Paris to headline the “Accra in Paris” concert.

The festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 23 at the Elysee Montmartre, Paris, France.

Likewise, their French counterparts Passi and Orti are gearing up to thrill the crowd on the night .

The first leg of the initiative which was held at Alliance Francaise in Accra in November last year saw a mammoth crowd of music lovers present including dignitaries such as EIB Network’s CEO Bola Ray and French Ambassador to Ghana HE Anne Sophie Ave, throng the venue, and it was like a movie.

Like the first-leg in Ghana, the Paris auditorium will have beaming lights to highlight performers, well lit-up stage as though directly from the sun, and the highest quality of sound produced to give patrons a theatre feel as value for their money.

Also, there will be stands and sheds where ‘Made in Ghana’ goods will be showcased at the Accra in Paris concert.

The ‘AIP’ 2022 according to organizers will help deepen the already strong relationship between both countries using arts and culture.
