Yomi Fabiyi Shares His Views About Rape, Says It’s Criminal And No Human Should Go Through It

Movie actor and producer Yomi Fabiyi says all rape or sexual harassment allegations must be investigated but that no matter the account, except with overwhelming evidence, the law says, “INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY”.

The actor took to Instagram to air his views about the recent incessant rape cases and allegations:

RAPE: I will continue to say to victims of RAPE and sexual harassment to SPEAK UP but speak up the right way, very crucial. We may abuse or condemn Nigeria Police for all we care, it is by far the most legal way to get JUSTICE than SOCIAL MEDIA.

If you run to social media without cogent proof, witness account, forensic evidence etc that is dangerous. Rape is criminal. No human should go through such, it is evil, anti-social and criminal.
The first thing you may be asked if you alleged on social media is; what are your intentions of speaking up online? If you want to shame someone on social media, do it convincingly but if you want justice and media shaming, report or petition the police directly or through a lawyer first.

Criminal defamation is sensitive. I will continue to stand on my point that all rape or sexual harassment allegations must be investigated but no matter the account, except with overwhelming evidence, the law says, “INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY”. If a level of the Police deny you fair hearing and your evidence are intact, proceed to a higher formation. But if they are mere allegations and no standard mean to verify the authenticity of your story or help the Police to ascertain the true fact, it turns charade.

It is wrong for the Police to instruct the accused to destroy evidence or allegations, they may advise for the sake of ALTERNATE DISPUTE RESOLUTION to delete and bring down any social media allegations which are without fact as it may be tantamount to civil or criminal defamation suit.
Your INTENTON(s) can be mistaken for social media criminality or relationship vengeance. Victims must be guided to avoid SOCIAL MEDIA TRIAL. A “NO” without evidence of force, beating, maimness, screaming, malicious damage, intimidation, arms, under-age, witness, suspect confession MAY BE HARD TO ESTABLISH AS RAPE ONLINE OR OFFLINE. This is democracy.

Lastly, people must understand the difference between SEXUAL HARASSMENT vs SEXUAL ATTRACTION, ADULTERY OR FORNICATION. All scenarios MUST be reviewed before a rape can be established occur.
