……it’s deeper than you think

Skin a documentary produced by Nigerian Actress and #50ShadesOfGrey advocate Beverly Naya is coming to Netflix this June.

Set in Lagos, Nollywood actress Beverly Naya went on a journey to unpack the concept of colorism in her hometown and to learn about contrasting perceptions of beauty by meeting individuals who have dealt with the pressure to conform to certain standards of beauty and how colorism continues to shape the face of the entertainment industry in Africa.

A constant that cannot be ignored is that almost all of the women discuss skin bleaching as something that is done for the affection of men.

Directed by Daniel Effiong the documentary features Beverly Naya, Chibuzor ‘Phyno’ Azubuike, Idris ‘Bobrisky’ Okuneye. Supporting actors include; Hilda Dokubo, Eku Edewor, Dianna Yekini.
