Father’s Day Wahala : John Dumelo Calls Out Lack Of Celebration For Fathers In Cryptic Post

Ghanaian actor and politician, John Dumelo has expressed his disappointment at the lack of celebration for fathers in Ghana, Africa and beyond.

In a social media post, the celebrated actor cum Politician said that while Mother’s Day is widely celebrated with events and giveaways, Father’s Day is often overlooked.

“When it’s Mother’s Day, all the multinational/local companies and brands will organize events and do giveaways for mothers,” he wrote. “But on Father’s Day, all WE get is…….nothing. God Dey.”

Dumelo’s post has sparked a discussion on social media, with many people agreeing that fathers are often not given the same level of recognition as mothers.

Some people have suggested that companies and brands should do more to celebrate fathers, while others have said that it is up to individuals to show their appreciation for their fathers.

Dumelo is not the only one who has spoken out about the lack of celebration for fathers in Ghana. In 2019, the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection launched a campaign to encourage people to celebrate fathers.

The campaign, which was called “Father’s Day: A Day to Celebrate Our Heroes,” included a series of events and activities.

Despite these efforts, it seems that the disparity in the celebration of Mother’s Day and Father’s Day in Ghana continues. Dumelo’s post is a reminder that fathers deserve to be celebrated just as much as mothers.

Dumelo is a well-known actor and entrepreneur in Ghana. He is a vocal supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).He has been married since 2014 and has two children. Father’s Day is celebrated in Ghana on the third Sunday of June.
