Helen Paul Inducted As Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Local Government & Public Administration of Nigeria1

Helen Paul has been formally inducted as a Fellow of the prestigious Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria.

Dr Helen Paul’s investiture took place at the Banquet Hall of the Mayors and Diplomats Hotel and Suites, Oduduwa Way, G.R.A Ikeja, Lagos, on Wednesday, 26 January 2022.

Registrar Dr. Uche Okereke conducted the proceedings based on the directives of the Institute’s head, Professor A.M. Awotoku.

The institute was also represented by Alhaja Yeye Mosunmola Johnson, Madam Kemi, Mrs Tinuola Mabuso – Secretary-General, and Professor Segun Olabinto, who read Dr Helen Paul’s citation.

There were captains of industry and eminent personalities from all walks of life in attendance at this historic event. Other government parastatals were represented, including the Nigerian Immigration Service and Nigerian Customs Service.

Comedian, Aditi, hosted the event and embers of the movie and entertainment industry were also present, including Binta Ayo Mogaji, Dupe Jaiyesimi, Ngozi Nwosu, Uti Nwachukwu, Ada Ameh, Yomi Fabiyi, Bunmi Davies, Rose Odika, Comedian Mr Hyena, and others.

Dr Helen Paul, FCPA, is also set to serve as an ambassador of the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria, which was founded in 1996 and chartered by Act of Parliament no. 1 of 2017.

Dr Okereke said that the selection of Helen Paul was a result of due consideration of her academic excellence. Not only does she have a Masters Degree in Theatre Arts, which is her primary field, but also in Public Administration. “She sneaked into Public Administration, and this is the first time we are combining Public Administration with Theatre Arts. We really want to experiment how Public Administration and Theatre Arts can work together… that is why we are also making her our Ambassador.”

She joins other eminent Nigerians who have been inducted as Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Local Government and Public Administration of Nigeria.

Four serving governors, two Supreme Court justices, former governor of Lagos State, and the Chairman of the National Democratic Leadership Education Association are among the Institute’s Fellows.
