Brushing Boundaries: Nigerian Artist Lola Mewu Breaks Guinness World Record with 72-Hour Painting Marathon 🎨
Lola Mewu, a Nigerian artist, has etched her name into history by shattering the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous painting session.
This astonishing feat spanned an impressive 72 hours.
In doing so, she eclipsed the prior record of 60 hours, an achievement credited to Roland Palmerts of France back in 2013.
This remarkable journey commenced on Saturday, October 28, 2023, and didn’t end until Tuesday, October 31.
Throughout this marathon creative endeavour, Lola Mewu summoned her artistic prowess to give life to a myriad of breathtaking artworks. Many of her works brilliantly evoke a sense of nostalgia, harkening back to cherished childhood memories and times gone by.
What’s more, the fruits of her incredible labour have already begun to find new homes as some of her paintings were swiftly auctioned off, cementing Lola Mewu’s place not only in the annals of the Guinness World Records but also in the hearts of art enthusiasts.
Part of her record attempt stipulates that the paintings can be bought. I’ve bid ₦65,000 on the newest painting available and you can check out the current gallery below. pic.twitter.com/zUSCSAZJE6
