Tems Co-Wrote “Lift Me Up”, Rihanna’s Comeback Single From “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”
Rihanna is returning to the airwaves with her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut.
In her latest post, the singer, beauty entrepreneur, and new mum announced what fans had been waiting for: the release of a new original song, which just so happens to be the lead single from the upcoming soundtrack for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
As stated in a press release, “Lift Me Up” was written by Tems, Oscar winner, Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna, and director Ryan Coogler as a tribute to Chadwick Boseman. Göransson produced the song, which was recorded in five countries.
“After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life. I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them,” “Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honor.”
Nigerian star Tems said in a statement.
HERE is the link to pre-order/pre-save the song, which comes out on Friday.
Rihanna posted a teaser of the track with the release date, watch it below:
