Renowned Model & Powerhouse, Kaone Kario Announced As Moziak Magazine’s Guest Editor For International Women’s Month
Online culture publication Moziak Magazine, boasting contributors from South Africa, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Nigeria, Morocco, LA, New York, and London, announce Botswana born, South Africa based model and 2005 Face of Africa winner, Kaone Kario, as their guest editor for International Women’s Month (March).
Kaone Kairo has cemented herself as a hallmark of longevity in the creative industry, strategically reinventing herself at every phase of her colourful career storyline. Each transitional plot point of her ambition consciously instils a refined blend of inspiration to the legions of aspiring models who aspire to walk a mile or two in her footsteps.
The former Nokia Face of Africa is considered one of Africa’s most significant modelling exports. She was 19 years old when she received her big break, winning the local “Face of Africa” competition in 2005 and soon developed a keen interest in the glitz and glamour of the modelling and television industry, resulting in her pursuing and procuring a diploma in media studies.
Carving a fiercely relentless lane for herself, in 2010, she auditioned and became a finalist in the Top Billing Presenter Search competition, which the late Simba Mhere won. 2011 saw Kaone move to New York City after being offered a modelling contract by Wilhelmina Models, where she secured features in media and print for big corporations such as the BBC, Sunday Times, Elle Magazine, Marie Claire, the Botswana Gazette and the SABC.
Upon her return to South Africa, the celebrity fashion and billboard model has scored brand work with the likes of Elizabeth Arden and Nivea and an acting debut playing the role of Leano on Ayeye, a television drama on DSTV, bringing her pubescent passions full circle. A steadfast advocate for mental health, Ms Kairo hosts a blog that encourages young people to follow their dreams and shy away from substance abuse that will lead them down a destructive path.
Kaone Kario once shared that she did not anticipate becoming a model and went to audition for what she believed was a K-TV presenter search at the time. Sustaining a continued abundance of success in the fashion, modelling, and media space, she now sets her sights on farming and venturing into Floriculture.
